FAQ
What belt standards does BeltMatch support?
BeltMatch covers ISO/DIN standards: classical (Z, A, B, C) and narrow profile (SPZ, SPA, SPB, SPC), with 661 sizes from published Optibelt catalog data. North American sections (3V/5V/8V and 3L/4L/5L) are not included yet. Check the app supported standards list if you need North American profiles.
Can I measure a belt that has worn markings?
Yes. If the printed marking is worn or illegible, measure the top width and inside length of the belt itself. BeltMatch searches by dimensions instead of by marking and finds the same result.
How accurate is the calculation?
BeltMatch uses exact open-belt tangent geometry, not an approximation. The accuracy depends on your input measurements. Measure your pulley diameters and center distance carefully--use calipers or a tape measure held perpendicular to avoid error.
Does BeltMatch guarantee the belt can be used?
No. BeltMatch shows reference candidates from published catalog data and tells you how far to adjust the shaft for each one. Always confirm against your machine original specification and stop the machine before measuring. BeltMatch does not guarantee compatibility, stock, or load rating.
What about V-belts for lawn mowers, HVAC, farm equipment, or machine tools?
BeltMatch is designed for all of these applications--wherever you need a Vee-belt replacement for pulleys. Just measure your pulleys and center distance, or measure the worn belt, and let the app find the candidate from Optibelt catalog.
Is there a safety warning before I measure?
Yes. Always stop the machine and cut power before measuring any belt or pulley. Rotating machinery is dangerous. Follow your machine lockout/tagout procedure. BeltMatch reminds you in the app.
