FAQ

How do I set my elevation?

You can take it automatically from your current location or type the figure in yourself. Location is used only at the moment you read your elevation, the value stays on your device, and nothing is sent anywhere. You can save the places you cook most often as your home elevation.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Boiling point and cooking-time calculations all run on your device, so no connection is needed at any point. It works exactly the same in the hills or anywhere without a signal, and no account is required.

Can I switch between metric and imperial?

Yes. Elevation can be shown in metres or feet and temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. You can change either at any time in Settings.

Is food safe if I cook it for the time shown?

Boiling points and times are physics-based estimates meant to guide you. For meat and food safety, always confirm the core temperature with a thermometer. AltiCook helps you plan your cooking; it does not replace safe-temperature checks.
