Turns one elevator ride into three numbers: peak acceleration, peak jerk and A95 vibration, measured with your iPhone's motion sensors and barometer.

Features

• One ride, one score

Place the phone on the floor and ride. The trip is cut out automatically by the barometer and split into acceleration, cruise and braking.

• Three numbers that travel

Peak acceleration (m/s²), peak jerk (m/s³) and A95 vibration (mg), measured in the spirit of the ISO 18738 method and placed on a reference scale.

• Compare cars, track months

Save each car by building and name, see the A95 trend over time and put two cars of the same building side by side.

• Honest about its limits

Hand shake is rejected: the app only records when the phone rests on the floor. Reference bands are editable and always labelled as app guides.

FAQ

• Is this an ISO 18738 compliant measurement?

No. It is not a calibrated instrument. Values follow the idea of the ISO 18738 method and the Smooth / Noticeable / Worth reporting bands are this app's own reference scale.

• Why can't I measure while holding the phone?

Hand movement is far larger than elevator vibration. The app checks the noise floor for 2 seconds and asks you to place the phone on the floor.

• Does it work without a barometer?

Ride detection needs the barometer. On a device without one the app says so and cannot record rides.
