FAQ

If I build exactly what the parts list says, will the rack be safe?

This app is a design aid that counts the tubes and fittings a given set of dimensions calls for. It does not perform structural analysis and does not determine load capacity. The weight you place on it, the site, how it is anchored, and the safety of the actual build remain your responsibility. If you are unsure, consult a qualified professional.

What's the difference between clamps and screw-on joints?

With clamps, tubes aren't cut — they run at full length alongside each other and are held with right-angle and swivel couplers, which means overhang and end caps come into play. With cast screw-on joints, tubes slot into the fitting; you choose whether uprights or ledgers run through, and the other member gets split. The app counts these two methods differently, right down to the cut lengths and quantities.

How are the cut lengths worked out?

With screw-on joints, whichever member you didn't choose to run through is split, and the parts list shows the cut lengths and counts based on the insertion depth setting — how far the tube seats into the fitting. You can change that depth to match the fittings you actually buy.

Can I use tube other than 48.6 mm?

The app assumes standard scaffold tube with a 48.6 mm outside diameter. Other diameters take different fittings and couplers, so the results won't match what you have in hand.

Can I take the parts list with me to the merchant?

The whole parts list copies as plain text. Paste it into your notes app or a message and it works as a shopping list on the trade counter.

Does it work offline? Is any data sent anywhere?

It runs fully offline, so it works on sites with no signal. Your designs are stored only on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.

What does it cost? Is it a subscription?

It's a one-off purchase. There's no subscription, no in-app purchase and no advertising.
